Applies to: the Companion mobile application (Android and iOS), operated by Reena Jain ("we", "us", "our", or "Companion").
This policy explains what information Companion collects, how we use it,
who we share it with, where it lives, and the rights you have over it.
It is written in plain language to comply with the Digital Personal
Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") of India.
If anything here is unclear, contact our Grievance Officer (Section 14)
and we will explain.
Companion is a personal medical-records keeper. It is not a
medical device, not telemedicine, and does not provide diagnosis or
treatment advice.
By default, everything stays on your phone. Your records are stored
in an encrypted database on your device, locked with a key that never
leaves the device's secure hardware.
Data leaves your phone in two situations, both opt-in: (1) when you
use AI-assisted features (reading a prescription photo, transcribing
voice) — your input is sent to Google's Gemini service for processing;
(2) when you turn on Caretaker Sharing so a family member can view
your records — an encrypted copy is sent to our sharing service
(Supabase) and auto-deleted after 90 days. We tell you before either
happens and you can decline or turn it off.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We
do not share it with hospitals, insurers, employers, or anyone
else.
You can export everything as a JSON file and delete everything
from inside the app at any time. Deletion is permanent.
